i was wondering if you could do this? like the skill got replaced with hero abilites?
it should be Possible to Add an Fifth spell. i seen maps have it. After you got all your hero abilities and the fifth spell is the final one The Hero abilities sign will dissppear and the fifth spell would be placed there.

You forgot the initial skill is still counted as a skill? Just that not level-able.

oh well but whats wrong with an fifth spell? it could help thoma on remakeing the spells. i want to see what thoma says. The CD could be very large to prevent spamfest or just make it an passive

Because there's already 5 spells in each hero already, if you failed to notice.
And it's totally not needed, seeing many heroes already having trouble with their limited skill resources.
And it's lame because spamfest.
I actually wrote the problems in the post above. Seems you either can't understand or didn't read.

Yes, its actually possible.. by giving the abilities at the end of level ( replacing the learn abilities button )
.. but I do prefer to not adding that for now.. and it will be harder to balance the hero

This idea is unstable, Why? Simple :
1. There are already 5 spells ( passive ) In case you didnt understood properly.
2. Too much ACB and FOC?
3. Needs balance not to become like FOC
4. I dont like the idea.
